The Phantom Strikes in The Forest City.
The Curtain has opened. The Phantom of the Opera has arrived in London Ontario, Canada.
This evening, I had the opportunity to attend one of the preview evening showings of the Phantom of the Opera which is being presented by the Grand Theatre's High School Project.
The opening night is September 22nd, 2023.
This evening, The roles of Phantom, Christine, and Raoul were played by Kieran Prouty, Camila Rodriguez, and Will Cramp.
The Phantom of the Opera is a musical I haven't seen since it's 90’s run in Toronto at the Pantages Theatre.
I've been looking forward to this musical being brought to the forest city for a few months now.
I very much enjoyed tonight's performance. From the chandelier falling at the beginning to the final scene and everything in between really made this a great evening.
It was obvious that the cast and those behind the scenes have been working very hard especially after being mentored by professional artists and coaches in various departments that help bring together a musical of this magnitude.
I believe those who are involved on stage and behind the scenes for this musical from local high schools have a lot of potential. They have a bright future.
There were some very minor bumps in tonight's performance but I believe the cast and crew will continue to learn as the performances carry out for the remainder of the schedule.
I'd like to invite anyone who has an opportunity to see this musical in the forest city.
Let the amazing talent of the students pull you into the mystery of the Phantom of the Opera.
Finally, Thank you to the Grand Theatre and High School Project for the opportunity to watch the story of The Phantom and Christine come alive after all these years.
Congratulations to all those involved in bringing this musical to stage.
