I have four Catholic Bibles including my latest which just arrived from ChurchLatin. It's the Latin Vulgate which was originally printed in 1901 by Desclee of Belgium. The copy I received has been reprinted by ChurchLatin.com . You can order here.
I was very excited to open up the package which arrived today. It arrived in mint condition.
While my knowledge of the Latin language is not the greatest, it is something that I am working on. This version of scripture has presented me a great challenge which I accept.
This version that ChurchLatin has reprinted is absolutely beautiful. Everything from the cover, illustrations, and of course the beautiful language helps brings the faithful into Tradition.
Looking at this version, it's obvious that the publisher knew what he was doing and that he had the Church in mind.
In the short time that I've had the Vulgate, I have found it to be a breath of fresh air in the sense that the publisher has made available a classic gem. Something you don't find often in a modern world.
I think more people should support efforts like ChurchLatin who are dedicated to bringing back the Tradition as found in the One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
Thank you ChurchLatin for the opportunity to share some thoughts on the 1901 Latin Vulgate. Be assured of my prayers for your future plans.
I think it's important for the faithful to devote themselves to reading scripture.
No matter where we're at in the liturgical year, may you be encouraged and inspired to wipe off the dust and crack open scripture and see where your story and God's story connect.
Be open and let the word of God speak to you.
