I’ve been reading some books from Romanitas Press recently that include The Liturgical Altar, Churches Their Plan and Furnishing, and Feasts of Our Lady.
Both books, Liturgical Altar and Churches Their Plan and Furnishings, are really great titles for those who would like to know more about the importance of the altar, how Churches are arranged, and other important aspects within the Church that pertain to the liturgy such as vestments, sacred vessels, linens, etc…
As someone who often wondered about the who, what, where, when, and why when it comes to Church architecture and other important aspects of the Church, I really enjoyed these titles.
I found both books while different in their own right were very similar. Both titles I highly recommend.
As for Feasts of Our Lady, This is a book I’ve read before and felt like sharing some brief thoughts. This book features fifty Marian feasts and two talks for Mothers’ Day. As someone who has a strong devotion to Our Lady, I found this book very beautiful in how it is presented to the faithful. Reading these personal stories from Fr Tonne really helps the faithful reflect on Our Lady under the many titles she is known as.
Readers will find as they reflect on Our Lady that the stories as told by Fr Tonne is engaging and helps drives home a spiritual point. Feasts of Our Lady is a book I also highly recommend for those who want to know more about Our Lady.
These three books in my opinion are must haves for any home or parish library. Don’t be afraid to learn about Our Lady and the Church.
Thank you to Louis J. Tofari of Romanitas Press for his work in providing great Catholic literature that help the faithful grow in the spiritual life.
