I recently wrote a review of TAN Books’s Manual of Prayers (see post titled The Baltimore Comeback).
Sophia Institute Press has come out with the Baltimore Book of Prayers.
I feel this book is more faithful to the original and the edition that followed.
I was very excited when my copy of Baltimore Book of Prayers arrived after months of waiting.
This book is well presented. Yes, it would've been nice to have ribbons but I can do without. At first glance, this hardcover book of prayer is beautiful.
I feel the publisher did everything they could to make this great. It seems like the time was took to make this a real treasure for people to remember for years to come.
Yes, I did notice some very minor mistakes but they can easily be fixed in future printings.
Nothing against the efforts of other publishers but in my honest opinion, I feel this is the must have prayer book for homes and parishes.
As I mentioned in the subtitle for the post where I reviewed The Manual of Prayers, I said:
“A prayer book of yesterday is a prayer book of today.”
That is to be said for The Baltimore Book of Prayers from Sophia Institute Press as well.
This book is a treasure that has been returned to where it belongs…. the faithful.
