A Forest of Symbols
I received a book from Angelico Press within the last week or so called “A Forest of Symbols: The Traditional Mass and it’s meaning.”
When looking at the traditional liturgy and everything that unfolds before our eyes, we witness a mystery. In this mystery, we find a forest of symbols that some may not understand. The author, Abbé Claude Barthe, does a great job of helping others to understand the importance of these symbols that are presented in the liturgy from beginning to end.
In my opinion, this book is a must have and has found itself in good company with written work from authors such as Dom Virgil Michel, Dom Gaspar Lefebvre, Dom Prosper Gueranger, and many others.
While my thoughts are brief, I invite you to also look at what I’ve written here and various other reviews written by others for this book in hopes that you will be encouraged to read it and share with others.
In closing, I’d like to end with an excerpt of Dr Peter A. Kwasniewski from his review of the book:
A potent tonic to restore our lost memories.
